COMMENTS

Overall, the show was the worst 'big event' of 2023. There wasn't much quality in most of the matches. The highlights for me were the World Heavyweight Championship match, LA Knight's Battle Royal victory and Iyo Sky's cash-in to win the Women's Championship. The main event was the worst match in the Bloodline story. It felt rushed and it was pretty predictable. Most of the time, I don't mind if a match outcome is predictable, but as long as you do it in a more creative way, or at least have some compelling key moments. Reigns vs Jey just wasn't it for me. It's hard for me to say that as well because I've been a huge admirer of this story. Can't win 'em all I guess. SummerSlam felt rushed for a roughly 5-hour show. Ironic, right?
