WrestleMania 39 (Night One) | Results & Grades
The following are the RESULTS and my GRADES for Night One of WrestleMania 39.
United States Championship
Austin Theory (c) def. John Cena
COMMENTS
This match wasn't the best on the card by any means, but the moment of Cena's entrance with the Make-A-Wish kids was a nice one.
Theory hit a low blow to Cena while the referee was knocked down and then hit the A-Town-Down on Cena to pick up the win.
It was basic and meh.
I didn't expect much more or less than what happened with this match, but I still felt it should have been a bit more. But, Cena is in Hollywood now and I'm just glad we were blessed with his presence. This may be one of the last times we see Cena compete at WrestleMania.

Men's WrestleMania Showcase
The Street Profits def. Braun Strowman & Ricochet,
Alpha Academy
and
The Viking Raiders
COMMENTS
This was a fast paced, but really well done tag team match.
Everyone looked great in the match, had some awesome spots and the crowd was into it from start to finish. It really blew me away. Loved it.
One of the better 'under 10 minutes' matches I've seen ever.
Props to everyone involved.
GRADE: B
Singles Match
Seth "Freakin" Rollins def. Logan Paul
COMMENTS
Really great match and very nicely paced.
Both Rollins and Paul looked real good, I enjoyed the spot involving KSI (he was revealed as the 'Prime Drink Mascot').
I hope this isn't the last we've seen of Logan Paul in a WWE ring, because he has no right being as good as is. A true natural. I hope we see more of him.
Rollins needed this win, it's his first Mania win since WrestleMania 35.
Really good match and I was entertained by it.
GRADE: A
Six-woman Tag Team Match
BECKY LYNCH
LITA
TRISH STRATUS
def.
Bayley
Iyo Sky
Dakota Kai
COMMENTS
The match went a bit too long, it went almost 15 minutes but felt like 30.
No disrespect to the performers, but it kind of dragged a bit.
However, Trish Stratus looked really good in this match, I enjoyed her performance. Props to her.
A bit too long for what it was, it felt almost like a filler match. As much as I truly hate saying that.
Not a terrible match, just felt like it was 'filler'.
GRADE: C-
Singles Match
Rey Mysterio def. Dominik Mysterio
COMMENTS
This was a really fun match and picked up the pace of the show after the previous match felt like a bit of a drag.
I really loved both entrances from Dom and Rey, but Rey's really hit me in the feels a lot with the Eddie Guerrero entrance music. So well done.
Match was phenomenal and told a tremendous story. Very well done. Loved it all.
GRADE: A
SmackDown Women's Championship
Rhea Ripley def. Charlotte Flair (c)
COMMENTS
This was yet another fantastic match, that delivered on just about every level.
Rhea was the right winner and Charlotte put on a solid performance per usual.
I'm glad this match went over 20 minutes, it didn't feel like it dragged at all. Loved it.
I'm assuming this means Rhea is on SmackDown now? Should be interesting moving forward.
Really well done match, props to Rhea and Charlotte for telling a great story!
GRADE: A
Singles Match
(filler segment)
Pat McAfee def. The Miz
COMMENTS
It was what it was. Great to see Pat. Miz deserved better. Oh well.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
def. The Usos (c)
COMMENTS
The perfect and only match that could have possibly main evented a great Night 1.
Absolute triumph and exceeded my own expectations, which were high already.
Props to Owens, Zayn and The Usos on telling an absolute masterpiece of a story.
A helluva... get it? way to end the night and it was a great first impression for what is to come the rest of the weekend.
A feel good moment that couldn't have happened to two better human beings.
Congratulations to KO and Sami!
