Vengeance Day (2024) | Results & Grades

The following are the RESULTS and my GRADES for NXT Vengeance Day 2024.

Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
(#1 Contenders Match)
Baron Corbin
Bron Breakker
def.
Carmelo Hayes
Trick Williams

GRADE: B+

COMMENTS
Really solid match to start off the event. Bron looked like a million bucks. Baron looked like a million bucks. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams looked like a million bucks. Crowd was hot for the entire match. I enjoyed it.

No Disqualification Match
Dijak
def.
Joe Gacy

GRADE: A

COMMENTS
Probably my favorite match of the night. Dijak and Gacy both just obliterated each other and Gacy, especially, looked and performed fantastic throughout. His facial expressions, mannerisms, in-ring all looked great and showed he can really hang in the right setting. He should easily be a future NXT Champion based on this performance. A real fascinating presence and character. Dijak has been great since this rebranding of his in this NXT run.

Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match
Tony D'Angelo,
Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo,
Adrianna Rizzo
(The D'Angelo Family)
def.
Lucien Price,
Bronco Nima,
Jaida Parker
(w/ Scrypts)
(OTM)

GRADE: B-

COMMENTS
A solid six-person match overall. No real sloppiness to it, everyone performed well and it was a solid little tag match. No real high expectations were exceeded with it, but I enjoy both factions and what they've brought to the NXT platform. Good stuff.

NXT Women's Championship
Lyra Valkyria (c)
def.
Roxanne Perez,
Lola Vice

GRADE: A

COMMENTS
Really good match for the ladies. Lola Vice entered the match later on, "cashing in" her Breakout's contract to make the match a Triple Threat. Vice performed real well and came off looking like a complete superstar during this. Lyra and Roxanne were absolutely killing it prior to Vice entering the match. All the ladies looked great and it was a really good match with a great finish. Can't wait to see what happens next with these ladies. I'm expecting Vice to get a singles match for the title at Stand & Deliver, maybe? Or we could see another Triple Threat at the event. We'll see how things play out in the coming weeks.

North American Championship
Oba Femi (c)
def.
Dragon Lee

GRADE: B-

COMMENTS
This was another solid match. Femi looked great and Lee always holding his own. Femi has been a dominate force since joining NXT. He's a star and I can't wait for this reign to continue. I don't see Lee getting anymore exposure in the NXT landscape, he should join the main roster full time after this, is my guess. Femi is a force to be reckoned with. Sharp stuff.

NXT Championship
Ilja Dragunov (c)
def.
Trick Williams
(w/ Carmelo Hayes)

GRADE: A+

COMMENTS
Fantastic match between Trick and Ilja to end the night. Carmelo was ringside. Both men got a ton of offense, Trick was over the whole match. Some outside shenanigans involving Carmelo at times. In the end, Trick came up a bit short and didn't win the title. Carmelo turned on Trick after the match and just brutalized Williams with some chair shots to the leg. The crowd was irate towards Melo and gave him some "F*ck you Melo!" words during the beatdown. What an ending and show overall. Another great show to add to the NXT archive. The Road to Stand & Deliver is looking real good so far.

FINAL COMMENTS
No real final comments about the show. It was another great show and everyone looked real good, no real duds to be mentioned. Great stuff. Kudos to Shawn Michaels and the entire NXT crew for producing another great show on the road.
